CHS Faculty Resources

Instructor Responsibilities and Professional Development

Administrators and Instructors are responsible for the review of this information prior to the start of each academic year. New instructors should review all included information upon receiving approval to teach a CHS course.

*It is the district and instructor responsibility to communicate and disseminate updated CHS information found on the main page of this site, including but not limited to Dates and Deadlines, Registration Information, and other SUNY Schenectady policies outlined below.

Instructor Request Form

New CHS High School Instructors who wish to be considered for approval to teach SUNY Schenectady CHS courses at their high schools should submit the following supporting documentation to chs@sunysccc.edu. For review, we need to collect:

  1. Bachelor and graduate level transcripts. These must have the college's name, dates of attendance, and 18 credits in the content area you are seeking approval.
  2. A current resume.
  3. Two letters of recommendation.

The review process typically takes about 1 week for an initial review and 1 week + for Dean & HR approval. We highly recommend requesting approvals two months prior to the start of classes. We may also follow-up directly with the instructor for supporting information (DOB, SSN, etc), so that an employee file can be created.

Faculty Access &  Login Assistance

Faculty Access

Please contact CHS staff for your SUNY Schenectady email address used during the Microsoft/Faculty Access login process.

Please review login and password reset information if you need assistance.

Syllabi, Course Outlines, and Final Assessments

Course Syllabi should be submitted for each course offered, each academic term. Even if you submitted a course syllabus previously, you must resubmit.

Please follow the Syllabus Template so all CHS Syllabi are consistent with what is required at the College, so Deans are able to easily review, and course information is consistent with SUNY Schenectady curriculum found in the official course outline. If your current syllabus does not follow this template, please feel free to reach out to CHS or the Dean overseeing your content area to receive help on revising.

Please submit your syllabus to chs@sunysccc.edu and include your name, school district, SUNY Schenectady title, local title, and course offering dates. Please also submit final assessments (final exams or project assignments) to chs@sunysccc.edu. These are provided to Academic Area Deans for review and assessment purposes.
