Online Learning

Are you ready for online learning?

Are you computer literate and able to troubleshoot basic hardware and software issues on your own? Are you a self-starter, ready to work independently? Do you need a flexible schedule to help meet your educational goals? Do the demands of work and family make it difficult for you to come to campus on a regular basis? Then online learning might be right for you.

Students taking online courses at SUNY Schenectady use D2L - Brightspace. D2L - Brightspace allows you to read or download your course syllabus, post comments to discussion forums, submit assignments via a drop box, collaborate in groups, take quizzes and tests, chat with others in the class, view and comment on videos, check your grades, and more.

Fully online courses at SUNY Schenectady follow the same academic calendar and policies as courses utilizing a traditional format. Credits earned via online learning courses are fully transferable. Student learning outcomes are the same for face-to-face and online courses and are assessed in the same cycle.

“Online Learning” is inclusive of more than just fully online courses. It includes blended (or “hybrid”) courses and web-enhanced on-campus courses to the same degree.
