Honorary Chair Joan R. Dembinski '10
After an impressive 50-year career in the pharmaceutical industry, Joan R. Dembinski
’10 followed her dream and enrolled at SUNY Schenectady, earning her degree as a Certified
Culinarian in 2010.
An avid traveler and lifelong learner, Joan has honed her culinary skills across the globe—from France and England to Zambia, Italy, and Indonesia. Today, she serves as Pastry Chef for the Honest Weight Food Co-op and Yono’s, while generously sharing her expertise with others.
On any given day, you might find Joan delivering fresh fruit to the South End Children’s Café, mentoring high school students in the kitchen, or delighting seniors at the Beltrone Center with her delicious creations. Her compassion and generosity know no bounds—especially when it comes to supporting those in need, including our students at SUNY Schenectady.
Help us celebrate Joan’s incredible journey and commitment to community at the 34th Annual Food for Thought & All That Jazz!
Please join our Honorary Committee and be part of an unforgettable evening of music, fine dining, and impact.
