Criminal Justice A.S.
The Criminal Justice A.S. degree prepares students for transfer into related programs at a four-year college or university. This degree provides introductory level instruction in the six course areas designated by the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences needed for program accreditation including: a) Administration of Justice; b) Corrections; c) Criminological Theory; d) Law Adjudication; e) Law Enforcement; and f) Research and Analytic Methods.
Program Learning Outcomes
- Explain the structure, functions, and interrelationships of the major components of the criminal justice system, including law enforcement, courts, and corrections.
- Analyze criminal behavior and legal principles to understand the causes of crime and the application of criminal law in various justice contexts.
- Apply procedural and evidentiary rules to real-world scenarios to support ethical and lawful decision-making in criminal justice professions.
