SUNY Schenectady/SUNY Oneonta Transfer Partnership

Through the SUNY Schenectady/SUNY Oneonta Transfer Partners program, students who graduate with their Associate degree from SUNY Schenectady with a GPA of 2.5 or above can transfer as juniors to SUNY Oneonta into one of SUNY Oneonta’s 50+ Bachelor’s degree programs. Credits earned at SUNY Schenectady are guaranteed to transfer to SUNY Oneonta.

SUNY Schenectady applicants will be admitted to the major declared on their admissions application with the following exceptions:

  • Students pursuing Education programs with a GPA between 2.5-2.99 will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Students pursing Music are required to complete an audition.

A SUNY Oneonta Transfer Admissions Advisor is on the SUNY Schenectady campus in the Academic Advising, Career and Transfer (AACT) Center to meet with students, answer questions, and ensure students stay on track to graduate and transfer to SUNY Oneonta.

  • Scholarships: You will be automatically considered for a renewable transfer merit scholarship of up to $2,000 per year when you apply for admission.
  • Seamless Transfer Credits earned at SUNY Schenectady are guaranteed to transfer to SUNY Oneonta.
  • Two Degrees! Earn an Associate degree and a Bachelor’s degree in as little as four years.
  • Special Events: You’ll be invited to visit SUNY Oneonta for admissions events, tours, campus events and more!
  • Support for Your Success: You’ll have the opportunity to connect with SUNY Oneonta faculty and staff while attending SUNY Schenectady.
  • Peer Mentors: You will be connected to a network of successful SUNY Oneonta students who can answer your questions and offer support to help you have a smooth transition to your life as a Red Dragon.
