Erik is an electric/upright bassist originally from Amityville,  NY. Erik moved to Albany in 1989 after receiving his B.A. in Psychology from SUNY Stony Brook. In 1992, he went back to school in pursuit of a Music education degree and earned a Masters from SUNY Albany and a second B.A., (Music Ed) from the College of St. Rose. In 1997, began teaching strings in the City School District of Albany. He retired in December 2024. 

Erik has performed with numerous local artists over the past 35 years including Lee Shaw, Nick Brignola, Chuck D’Aloia, David Calarco, George Muscatello, Nat Phipps, Ray Alexander, John Esposito, Sensemaya Latin Jazz ensemble and many more. Erik continues to teach primarily double bass from his private home studio, and maintains an active performance schedule.
