Program Details
- The ECHS Summer program runs Monday, June 29 until Thursday August 6, 2026.
- Classes are Monday though Thursday (no program on Fridays).
- A provided grab-and-go breakfast will be available 8:00-9:00 a.m., Monday through Thursday.
- Classes last from 1.5 to 2 hours long (please see your student schedule). ECHS students are only required to be on campus for class. They can arrive as early as 8:00 a.m. but should depart no later than 12:45 p.m. Students can leave after their class ends if they want.
- There is construction on campus this summer that limits spaces for students to spend their study time. The main library space will be closed this summer.
- Please arrive on Monday, June 29 at 8:30 a.m. for Orientation at the Welcome Center in Elston Hall where you will receive your schedule. Expect to be here until 11:30 a.m.
- Students are expected to take their breakfast to their classroom or study space, eat, and dispose of all garbage with enough time BEFORE class begins. No eating or drinking during class is allowed.
- If possible, students should come prepared with a writing utensil and something to
take notes with like a notebook.
Students will be provided any textbooks at orientation. - Students will be provided with a Chromebook if they do not have one. These must be returned at the end of the summer program. If you have been assigned a Chromebook from the SCSD, please bring it with you to our program.
- Students will be provided with a SUNY Schenectady ID that has a CDTA pass on it for
active program dates. No transportation to the college will be available the first day prior to us handing
out the IDs, so please be
prepared. - For students who misplace or lose their ID, one replacement will be covered free of cost during the total 4 year program. Further replacements cost $35. Please note, when students lose their IDs, the CDTA transportation pass may be disabled for as much as two days.
- Student tuition and textbooks are provided at no cost to students or families. If you receive a bill, please email echs@sunysccc.edu.
- If students are sick, they should stay home. Please email echs@sunysccc.edu with the student’s name preferably before 8:00 a.m. so that we can inform their college instructor.
- Extended absences are not possible to accommodate during a six-week accelerated college course. While we understand that family vacations and travel are sometimes unavoidable, student who are enrolled in a summer course who are expecting to be absent for any extended period of time will need to complete the 2026 ECHS Summer Drop & Withdrawal Form. Students who withdraw or cannot participate in the summer program will still be able to continue in the four-year program.
- Cell phone use during class is not allowed.
- Fighting, rough-housing, shouting, running, and other disturbances will not be allowed. Students who misbehave at the College Campus are subject to both the SUNY Schenectady Code of Conduct and the SCSD Code of Character Conduct and Support.
- Academic Misconduct will not be tolerated. This includes but is not limited to, academic cheating; plagiarism; the sale, purchase or exchange of papers, or research; or theft of another’s work from any source.
- Students should review their Student Handbook handed out their first year. If a student does not have this, additional copies will be available at orientation.
