Student Success Workshops

Join the Student Success Coaches for free student success workshops that will help you develop the skills you need to be a successful student.

All workshops will be held virtually for the Fall 2020 semester. To join the workshop, click on the link listed with each individual workshop. If it is your first time joining a Microsoft Teams meeting, you will need to follow the instructions to download Teams. You will use your SUNY Schenectady username and password to log in.

Monday Mini-Series: Inhale Calm, Exhale Stress (only 20 minutes!)

Don’t have time for a full length workshop? Don’t worry, the success coaches have you covered! This 20 minute workshop emphasizes the importance of self-care. Join us as we practice guided meditation, talk about different types of self-care, and create your own individualized self-care plan.

Study Skills

Wednesday, September 30

The Study Skills workshop provides you with an overview of skills and strategies for effective studying. Several strategies related to reading and note taking are highlighted. You will be provided with many resources to take with you and put your study skills to the test.

Are you struggling to balance all that needs to get done in the day? The Student Success Center is pleased to offer this workshop on Time Management. We will evaluate how we spend our time, discuss effective time management strategies to help reduce the stress of our workload, and provide tips to keep you motivated this semester!

Building a Mindset for Success

Your mindset plays an important role in how successful you will be. Are you curious as to what your mindset is? Join the success coaches as we discuss Carol Dweck’s research on fixed vs growth mindset and how you can change your mindset to be academically successful.
