The Royal Experience is your first step on the path to success! Our mandatory orientation program is divided into two parts. The online Royal Experience (Step 1) and the in-person Royal Experience (Step 2).

Royal Experience - Step 1

  • Learn what it means to be a student and to be a part of this unique and innovative community
  • Become familiar with the academic and support resources available to ensure you succeed
  • Gain a clearer understanding of your rights and responsibilities as a member of SUNY Schenectady

Access Step I of the Royal Experience

  • Make sure you have your student ID number available. (900XXXXXX)
  • You can watch the Royal Experience Online Orientation, come back to it, and use it as a reference during your time as a student at SUNY Schenectady

Royal Experience - Step 2 

Save the date for the in-person Royal Experience! You will only need to attend one day, and that will be determined by your program of study. 

Wednesday, August 19, 12-4 p.m.

Students whose degree program is in the Division of Math, Science, Technology and Health, and students in Business programs.

Thursday, August 20, 12-4 p.m.

Students in Aviation programs, the School of Hotel, Culinary Arts and Tourism, the Division of Liberal Arts, and the School of Music.

Attend the in-person Royal Experience, where you can:

  • Visit campus to meet faculty, staff and students
  • Get your Student ID Card and Parking Pass
    - Request a Parking Pass
  • Attend workshops about campus services
  • Obtain last minute support from Financial Aid, IT or your success team
  • Turn in your Immunization records
