New Student Registration

After you receive your Acceptance of Admission letter by email or mail, the next steps are easy to navigate! Admitted students are invited to take our English placement test (some students may not need this based on their academic record) and then meet with an advisor to choose your schedule. If you are required to take the English placement test please contact our testing center. You can take the English placement test at-home or make arrangements to complete the test in the Testing Center. The Testing Center does not decide who may or may not take the placement exam. Please seek advisement from the Office of Admissions (Elston Hall, Welcome Center) or by telephone at 518-381-1366) if you have any questions about testing requirements.

After completing the English placement test (or if you are exempt) you can meet with your Academic Advisor to pick out your schedule. Your Academic Advisor’s contact information is in your acceptance letter or can be found on the Academic Advising page. To meet with your Academic Advisor you can make an appointment by calling or emailing. If you have any questions about Academic Advisement feel free to call at 518-381-1277 or e-mail us at academicadvisement@sunysccc.edu.

Registered students are also required to complete our online new student orientation before the semester begins.

We are here to help answer any questions you may have. Contact the Admissions Office directly at 518-381-1366 or at admissions@sunysccc.edu.
