EOP Program Requirements
EOP Pre-college Summer Program for Incoming First-year Students
All incoming freshmen EOP students must attend our three-week, summer program that begins in July and ends in early August.
The mandatory EOP Pre-college Summer Program introduces students to life at SUNY Schenectady and helps them prepare for their academic studies. This program is free, with breakfast, lunch, and bus transportation covered for the entire three weeks.
You’ll participate in:
- Pre-college classes in writing, reading and mathematics
- Workshops on study skills and other good academic habits
- Individual and group advising sessions
- Career awareness workshops
- Student enrichment field trips

Semester Requirements
All EOP students are required to sign a contract holding them responsible for their
academic and social performance and program obligations.
To remain eligible for the program at SUNY Schenectady students must:
- Meet GPA requirements as outlined in the SUNY Schenectady Student Handbook for graduation.
- Meet program requirements of a 2.50 GPA.
- Meet with the EOP student success coach and/or program director two times per semester or as directed by staff.
- Attend at least one campus event and one EOP workshop each semester.
Academic Recognition Events
- Attendance at award and recognition celebrations
- EOP Advocacy Day at the New York State Capital (Spring semester)
- EOP Acknowledgment Award
