High School Choral Workshop
Welcome to the SUNY Schenectady School of Music High School Choral Workshop! Join us for a unique opportunity to explore various aspects of choral singing under the guidance of renowned professionals.
Choral Workshop Overview
Led by our distinguished faculty and featuring internationally acclaimed conductor and clinician Dr. Pearl Shangkuan, this workshop promises to be an exceptional learning and performing experience.
Dates
The workshop will take place on Friday, October 25, 9:00 a.m.-8:30 p.m. (choirs do
not need to attend the entire event.)
Registration Fee
- $300 per school choir
- Deadline is October 7
- Does not include lunch or dinner
Payment upon registration is preferred but will be accepted until October 7, 2024.

Register for the High School Choral Workshop
Workshop Highlights
- Choral Masterclasses: Engage in a masterclass with guest conductor, Dr. Pearl Shangkuan, where directors conduct their own choir and receive feedback.
- Multiple Sessions: Attend sessions on various topics, including Jazz Singing, Musical
Theatre Singing, Audio Recording, Choral Warm-Ups and more.
- Sessions and/or lessons will be scheduled for students during the choral masterclass time slots (9:45 a.m.-12:00 p.m. & 1:00-3:30 p.m.) when their high school choir is not working with Dr. Shangkuan
- Collaborative Performances: Participate in collaborative performances with other high school choirs at the final concert
