Students Who Graduate from SUNY Schenectady Now Have 30K Scholarship Opportunity and Transfer Pathway Through New Agreement with Hobart and William Smith Colleges

SUNY Schenectady and Hobart and William Smith Colleges (HWS) have announced a new transfer agreement that will guarantee SUNY Schenectady graduates acceptance and scholarship support into bachelor’s degree programs at HWS, located in Geneva, N.Y. The agreement was signed during a ceremony on the SUNY Schenectady campus by SUNY Schenectady Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Mark Meachem and HWS Provost and Dean of Faculty Dr. Sarah Kirk.

The agreement applies to all SUNY Schenectady students, regardless of major. Students who complete a degree at SUNY Schenectady with a GPA of 3.0 or higher will be guaranteed admission to HWS. Transfer students who are accepted with a GPA over 2.7 are guaranteed a scholarship of at least $30,500.

It also reflects a shared commitment to student success by guaranteeing admission for qualified graduates and providing financial support through transfer scholarships, reducing barriers at a critical transition point in a student’s journey.”

“This agreement reflects Hobart and William Smith’s deep commitment to educational access, opportunity, and partnership,” said Hobart and William Smith President Mark D. Gearan. “By guaranteeing admission and meaningful scholarship support for SUNY Schenectady graduates, we are creating a clear, affordable pathway for talented students to pursue a bachelor’s degree. We are proud to partner with SUNY Schenectady to expand options for students and to support their continued academic success.”
