SUNY Schenectady announces that its 50th Commencement will be celebrated at a later date this year. The decision to move May Commencement was due to the uncertain status of the COVID-19 pandemic and the College's priority to keep students, faculty, and staff safe.

SUNY Schenectady will offer the approximately 500 graduates the opportunity to participate in an on-campus graduation ceremony once a new date is confirmed. Eligible graduating students will receive their degrees and certificates as scheduled.

"We strongly believe that our students should be recognized for their academic success," said Dr. Steady Moono, President of SUNY Schenectady. "This is what we owe our students as an institution. This is especially true of this class, who has had to face the additional challenge of moving their studies to a virtual format halfway through the Spring Semester. We are proud of the commitment they have made and the flexibility they have shown in attaining their academic goals."
