Students Share Their Thoughts As The Spring Semester Starts
The Spring Semester started this week! It's the perfect time to ask students what's on their minds this spring, what they're looking forward to, and what goals they have for this semester and beyond.
Tanner Litts, Mathematics and Science major
“Math was always my favorite subject and this semester I’m looking forward to getting
started with my Math courses. The College has a great program, especially because
of the SUNY connection. I plan to transfer on for my bachelor’s degree to become a
Math teacher or professor.”
Jolie Phillips, Performing Arts: Music and Culinary Arts: Baking Concentration
“I’m looking forward to performing with the Percussion Ensemble and Wind Ensemble.
I’m also looking forward to learning how to decorate cakes in my culinary classes.”
Malak Hauser, Performing Arts: Music
“I’m looking forward to performing in the ensembles. I’m in the Percussion Ensemble
and Wind Ensemble. I’m a percussionist and I play the xylophone and marimba.”
Lavare Beeks, Human Services
“I graduated in 2022 with my degree in Criminal Justice and decided to come back for
Human Services. SUNY Schenectady is like home. With my Human Services degree I plan
on going on for my bachelor’s degree. I want to help people. This semester I’m looking
forward to my internship and my SOC 122: Social Problems class.”
Chloe Pierce, Hospitality and Tourism Management
"I'm looking forward to doing my internship and graduating. At my internship I'll
be making connections and getting some good experience in the industry."
Wesley Rush, Business Administration
“I’m looking forward to getting more involved in College activities – Student Government,
Student Activities Board, and clubs. I also want to be part of Phi Theta Kappa Honor
Society. After SUNY Schenectady, I plan to transfer for my Accounting or Business
degree to become a Certified Public Accountant.”
