We Are Energized For This New Semester!
It's a new semester! From Baking and Business classes and internships to serving as a student leader and building a foundation for starting a new business, students share what they're looking forward to about this semester.
Dylan Maher, Liberal Arts: History major and President of the Student Government Association
“I am looking forward to continuing to lead the Student Government Association as we work to represent all members of the student body. I also hope to touch base with new students this semester. Best of luck to everyone.”
Asahdia Thompson, Entrepreneurship
“This is my first semester and I’m really excited to get to know my professors and the courses. I’m taking an Accounting class and Intro to Business and Entrepreneurship classes. I’m interested in everything we’ll cover in those courses. For some of my classes, I know we’re in the community a lot, so I’m excited to get more hands-on experience.”
Ruby Culletto, Culinary Arts
“This semester, I'm excited about the opportunities ahead, with classes that let me
experience both back and front of house, which let's me explore restaurant life and
more. I'm also excited to meet future guests and chefs!”
Haleliya Wilson, Culinary Arts: Baking Concentration
“I’m looking forward to going further into my Baking concentration. I’m doing cakes
this semester so I’m excited to see where that goes. I’m looking forward to the summer
Italy trip and what the kitchens are like.”
Monty Belfort, Culinary Arts
"I'm excited about expanding my skills this semester and going to the Kentucky Derby
and then to Italy this summer."
Ariana Matos, Liberal Arts: Psychology
“This is my last semester and I’m planning to transfer into a four-year school for
my bachelor’s degree in Psychology and then focus on Child Psych. I would like to
earn my Ph.D. in the future and have my own practice.”
Autumn Kurtz, Performing Arts: Music
“Specifically, I’m excited about Dr. Han’s Chorus performing another Requiem. This time the plan is to do it with a full orchestra as well and perform at a bigger
church than in the past. Being able to perform together with another ensemble is definitely
exciting, to have the full sound.”
Neslian Caban, Performing Arts: Music
“I’m excited to learn more, get my voice better than it was last semester, and to
get my nervousness out. I’m in Chorus, Vocal Chamber Ensemble, and I have Performance
Concentration with a solo, so I’m very excited about that. I am looking forward to
learning more about voice and to get more confident with that.”
