SUNY Schenectady is continuing its preparations to transition courses to virtual learning formats in anticipation of instruction resuming on March 30 following an extended spring break. The safety of the College’s students and campus community remains the top priority as administrators continue to monitor the evolving COVID-19 novel coronavirus situation closely.

SUNY Schenectady is doing its part to reduce the spread of the virus. As of March 18, there have been no reported or confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 at the College. All College offices remain open, although SUNY Schenectady is complying with New York state’s directive to limit staff on campus to 50 percent of its total workforce. Additionally, the College has limited entry points to its buildings through Elston Hall (quad/security entrance), School of Music and the Canal Side Café Patio. The institution is committed to ensuring a safe and healthy environment for students, faculty, and staff and will continue to take guidance from SUNY Administration, state leaders, federal agencies, and health officials for the well-being of its campus community.

Student academic success is also a priority. The College is working to provide as much assistance as possible to keep students on track during and after this public health situation. Students who do not have access to a computer or reliable Wi-Fi, are asked to relay this information in an email to studentscovid19@sunysccc.edu or studentaffairs@sunysccc.edu. SUNY Schenectady will work with students to provide the proper accommodations for continued, uninterrupted academic instruction during this difficult time.

SUNY Schenectady will be communicating updates regularly with the campus and wider community. The latest updates can also be found on the College’s COVID-19 web page.
