Meet Our Student Government Association Officers and Senators

Student Government Association Officers and Senators are ready for a great year! Here, student leaders fill us in on whose advice they listen to most and who they're listening to in general, their favorite mottos, and what they do when they’re not at the College. They also share their goals as student leaders and plans for the future.

Jenny also is an EMT student and works at an urgent care as a Medical Assistant.

What are your goals as a student leader? To engage students and hear from different backgrounds, especially BIPOC.

What do you plan to do after you graduate from SUNY Schenectady? I’m taking a year in between my associate and bachelor's to work as an EMT to gain medical experience.

What do you do when you’re not going to the College? In my absolute free time, I like to watch movies with my partner and our two cats!

Who gives you the best advice and why? My mom – she’s blunt and tells me what I need to hear.

What’s a motto that you live by? “You won’t know unless you try.”

Sarah is also Vice President of the International/English Language Learners Club.

What are your goals as a student leader? I hope to create more inclusivity, less judgment, and more tolerance for what is new to you.

What do you plan to do after you graduate from SUNY Schenectady? I wish to pursue a career in pharmacy.

What do you do when you’re not going to the College? I’m usually working most of the time or spending time with my cats and girlfriend. When I have extra time, I like to do my makeup.

Who gives you the best advice and why? I have several people in my life who guide me, all of which collectively make me a better person every day. I couldn’t choose just one.

Who’s your favorite band or artist? Breaking Benjamin and Joji. I also like Soda Stereo, Caramelos De Cianuro, and Selena.

Favorite study snack? Ruffles Queso

Rondacia is also involved with 15-Love, an outreach program for youth which uses tennis as the medium, and she volunteers in the Cardiac Rehab unit at Ellis Hospital.

What are your goals as a student leader? I hope to make SUNY Schenectady an exciting place to learn by addressing issues both in and out of the classroom.

What do you plan to do after you graduate from SUNY Schenectady? I plan on pursuing a career as a surgeon.

What do you do when you’re not going to the College? I watch TV.

Who gives you the best advice and why? There is no one person. Sometimes it is my parents or members of my church: it depends on the situation.

What’s a motto that you live by? “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”

Who’s your favorite band/artist? I do not have a favorite band or artist. My musical palette is quite diverse.

Favorite study snack? Doritos mixed with Cheetos.

Ryan is also on the Sustainability Committee and Student Activities Board, and is a member of the Garden Club.

What are your goals as a student leader? My goals as a student leader are to encourage other students to get involved with helping our environment by leading activities such as trash clean ups around campus and by spreading the word about local environmental marches.

What do you plan to do after you graduate from SUNY Schenectady? My plan is to transfer to UAlbany and study political science.

What do you do when you’re not going to the College? When I’m not in school, I have outdoor hobbies.  I like to bike, hike, travel, spend time with my family, and hang out with my friends.

Who gives you the best advice and why? My parents give me the best advise because they always try to encourage me to do my best at things. They know me best and want me to have a good future doing something that makes me happy.

What’s a motto that you live by? “Keep Our Earth Green.”

Who’s your favorite band/artist? I don’t really have a favorite band or artist, but I like a variety of music.

Favorite study snack? Tortilla chips.

Davie is also President of the International/English Language Learners Club and the eSports & Gaming Club, Treasurer for SkillsUSA, member of the Meeting Professionals Club, and member of the Intercultural Affairs Committee.

What are your goals as a student leader? My goal as a student leader is to always help students in need of assistance and to make their days at SUNY Schenectady memorable and fun!

What do you plan to do after you graduate from SUNY Schenectady? My plan after I graduate from SUNY Schenectady is to transfer to a four-year school in California to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.

What do you do when you’re not going to the College? I read fiction books at home, hang out with my friends, and watch the latest movies/TV shows.

Who gives you the best advice and why? My teachers from school throughout my life give the best advice to me because of the experience they share and the lessons I learn from them.

Jeremy Allen

Jeremy is also a member of the Christian Fellowship Club and Student Volunteer Organization.

What are your goals as a student leader? To faithfully represent and advocate for the best interests of the student body and provide stable and dependable direction and assistance to the same.

What do you plan to do after you graduate from SUNY Schenectady? The plan right now is to continue my education toward a bachelor’s degree in the field of engineering. This may be as a full-time student or as a part-time student while working and gaining experience in the field with a related employer, and I plan on staying in the area while doing this.

What do you do when you’re not going to the College? Homework! I am also a member of The Salvation Army and spend much time involved in various ministries associated with them. For leisure, I like to just hang out with friends and talk or play games or sit around a campfire.

Who gives you the best advice and why? My church family (esp. small groups) provides the best advice because there is so much diversity; it’s my support network.

What’s a motto by which you live? “In all situations, aspire to remain faithful to God.”

Who’s your favorite band/artist? Recently, I’ve been enjoying Rimsky-Korsakov.

Favorite study snack? Frappuccinos and peanut M&M’s.
