Congratulations to Grace Henderson, one of two recipients of the 2024 Harvey Lincoln Student Scholarship from Achieving the Dream. Grace was selected from a competitive pool of applicants from colleges across the country for the $3,000 scholarship.

Grace is a Human Services major who is a SUNY EOP Ambassador and participant in the TRIO program. In addition to going to school full time, she is a single mother who volunteers for the PTO at her son Ezra’s elementary school and works with the Schenectady Community Action Program to help unhoused families find apartments.

She shares, “It is a blessing to be able to go back to communities and speak to kids and families who are just like me. I am a person who is dedicated to seeing people succeed in life and will help anyone get to where they want to be.”

Grace plans to graduate from SUNY Schenectady and then transfer on for her bachelor’s degree to become a social worker.

The Harvey Lincoln Student Scholarship provides need-based scholarships for community college students who have persisted in their studies despite educational, personal, or financial obstacles and are attending Achieving the Dream institutions.
