Q: What is the purpose of the Success Coaches?
A: The Success Coaches are here to help you, the student, successfully complete your education at SUNY Schenectady. Our job is to connect you to the many resources available to you both on and off campus to help you succeed.
Q: How do Success Coaches know to reach out to me?
A: SUNY Schenectady utilizes the Starfish System to help faculty communicate student concerns or victories with the Student Success Center. By “flagging” a student, instructors send a message to the student and to the Success Coaches, who may then reach out to you to address the situation.
Q: What does it mean if I am contacted by a Success Coach?
A: Think of Success Coaches as your academic support network. Our team is here to contact you when we feel we can provide helpful guidance regarding your academic career at SUNY Schenectady. If you are contacted by a Success Coach, it means that your support network is working together to help you succeed. However, do not wait for us to reach out to you. If you feel like you are struggling, come speak to us and we will assist you in finding the resources you need.
Q: How do I connect with a Success Coach?
A: Stop by the Student Success Center any time during our listed hours. We are located in Elston 017, which is the glass office directly across from the cafeteria. We accept appointments and walk-ins and are happy to help. UPDATE: While SUNY Schenectady is being used as a COVID vaccine distribution location, we are temporarily located in Elston 134.
