Women's Crew

Women's Crew Season for Spring 2021 Canceled

As a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and out of an abundance of caution, SUNY Schenectady County Community College has decided to cancel the spring athletic season for women’s crew. This was a very difficult decision to make, but the safety of our student-athletes, coaches and community are always foremost in our decision making. We will now forward all of our efforts towards the Fall 2021 seasons.

Welcome to the Royals Women's Crew Program

Currently in its 14th season, SUNY Schenectady is one of only two community college in the country with a women’s crew program - Orange Coast Community College of California being the other.

The Royals program has steadily grown over the past few years both in terms of the number of women participating and the number of competitive races the women have rowed in. What an impressive list of regattas-Head of the Charles in Boston, Head of the Housatonic in Connecticut, Head of the Genessee in Rochester and our very own Head of the Mohawk here in Schenectady. Add races against local rivals, Union, UAlbany and RPI and you have a full schedule for the season. Whether you are new to the sport (most of our team members never rowed in high school but participated in endurance sports like track and field, soccer or basketball) or a veteran rower we are always looking for new potential rowers.
