Robert started as a Technical Specialist adjunct in the spring of 1993. He was appointed to a full time Sr. Technical Specialist in 2000, and Instructor in 2012. Robert is the Lead Instructor for Food Preparation 1 and 2, and also teaches Dining room Management. Robert was on the first Walt Disney College program as a student, and now is the Walt Disney World Culinary Educator Adviser for the advanced culinary co-op and internship programs on campus. He also is the Chef and co-owner of the renowned The Bears Steakhouse in Duanesburg NY. This allows him to stay current in our field since he is involved in all aspects of running a 49 year family owned establishment. The restaurant was the recipient in 2013 of the National ACF Achievement of Excellence Award.
Robert is active in multiple professional organizations that benefits both his professional development in addition to bringing a wealth of knowledge to his students that include: American Culinary Federation ;(Chef of the year 2011, Liz Krause Professionalism award 2011), Skills USA, PROSTART, and NYS Restaurant Association. He is also the co –advisor of the ACF Jr. Chapter and the coach of the Galand Knowledge Bowl team at SCCC.
