After graduating from RPI (twice), Dr. Gilson completed two postdocs, one in chromatin structure at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and one in mobile genetic elements at the Wadsworth Center of the New York State Department of Health. She has worked in the research labs of the Stratton VA Medical Center, and served as a genetic testing scientist for two biotechnology companies; one a huge U.S. company, the other, a Swiss start-up.
Dr. Gilson started her career at SUNY Schenectady in 2010 as an adjunct professor. She has taught BIO 273 & 274 (previously BIO 151 & 152), Anatomy and Physiology I and II, BIO 112 Human Biology , BIO 141 Biology I and NTR 161 Nutrition, as well as other introductory and advanced biology courses at other regional colleges and universities. In 2023, she transitioned to a full-time position as a lab technician. She is excited to be back in an active lab position!
