Sheila Foglietta is an attorney and a full time professor in the Business, Criminal Justice and Law Division at Schenectady County Community College. She has served as a delegate to the Faculty Council of Community Colleges and Faculty Chairperson for academic years 2008-2009, 2009-2010 and 2010-2011. She is a proud recipient of the 2010-2011 SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching and the 2017 SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Faculty Service. Her committee duties at SUNY Schenectady include Chair of the Professional Policies Nominations and Awards Committee for academic years 2012-2013 and 2013-2014.
Prior to becoming a professor at SUNY Schenectady, she was a lender’s attorney for a mid-size law firm in Garden City, Long Island where she continued as “ Of Counsel” while in private practice in the Capital District area. A graduate of St. John’s University School of Law, she was licensed to practice law by admission to the New York State Bar at the Appellate Division 2nd Department in January 1994.
