Harry Buffardi began his career with the Schenectady County Sheriff’s Department as a deputy sheriff. He rose through the ranks and went on to become the Sheriff and the County’s top cop. He was the Sheriff for ten years before retiring and becoming a full-time professor in the criminal justice program at SUNY Schenectady. For five years, he was assigned to the Drug Enforcement Administration where he worked undercover investigating mid to upper level drug cases and supervised a group of local, state, and federal drug investigators. He was also in charge of the cadaver K-9 operation on Staten Island after the World Trade terrorist attacks. As well as having a decorated career, Harry holds a Bachelor’s degree from SUNY Empire State College with a concentration in Criminal Justice Administration and a Master’s degree from Syracuse University in Social Science.
