It has long been the mission of the Capital Region Wind Enseble (CRWE) to serve as role models for young student musicians. As such, the CRWE would like to invite music educators to recommend students to join us for our second concert of the 2016 -2017 season.
The concert will be held Sunday, April 2, 2017, at 3:00 p.m. The selected students will play Vincent Persichetti’s Divertimento and John Philip Sousa’s Sound Off side-by-side with the musicians of CRWE.
All rehearsals and the concert will be at Schenectady County Community College. Rehearsal dates are:
- Sunday, March 19, 5:15 - 8:00 p.m.
- Sunday, March 26, 5:15 - 8:00 p.m.
- Saturday, April 1, 9:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Students will work with CRWE members in sectionals, rehearse with the full group and participate in master classes where interested students will be given the opportunity to perform solo literature in a workshop format. Dr. Jonathan Hulting-Cohen, currently an Assistant Professor of Saxophone at University of Massachusetts, Amherst, as well as area professional musicians, will present the master classes.
For full details, please read the application packet, which contains a letter to music educators, the Student Application, and a Master Class Application.
The deadline for returning forms is January 23, 2017.
