Liberal Arts: Humanities and Social Sciences A.A.
The English Concentration, part of the Liberal Arts: Humanities and Social Sciences A.A. degree program, prepares students for academic success in
baccalaureate transfer programs in English and related disciplines. By offering students courses that reflect a diverse set of global and cultural
perspectives, the program expects students to explore and reflect on human endeavors through literature and writing.
The Liberal Arts: Humanities and Social Sciences English Concentration enables graduates to:
develop proficiency in written and oral communication;
- examine ideas and issues from multiple perspectives; and
- develop analytical and creative problem solving skills.
The English Concentration is primarily for the student who anticipates transfer
to a four-year institution to complete work for a baccalaureate degree.
It satisfies the SUNY Transfer Pathways, thereby providing seamless transfer into English and related majors.
