This course will prepare students for the New York State Notary Public test and provide a comprehensive view of the Notary Public office. Confusing laws, concepts and procedures will be clearly explained and examples will be provided to discuss situations that a Notary Public officer is likely to encounter. Topics include avoiding conflicts of interest, maintaining professional ethics, charging proper fees, handling special situations, deferring to an attorney and minimizing legal liability. All materials will be provided. This course is taught by Steven E. Williams, a member of the American Society of Notaries, as well as a practicing mobile notary, mortgage loan signing agent and New York State licensed Mortgage Loan Originator. From audio books and cartoons to documentaries, commercials and more, this class will introduce you to the growing field of voice-over. Today, the range of voices hired has grown dramatically from the days of announcers. Learn what the pros look for, how to prepare, and where to find work in your area. We’ll discuss industry pros and cons and play samples from working voice professionals. In addition, you’ll have an opportunity to record a short professional script under the direction of the instructor. This is an eight-hour course required by the state of New York. It is the first step toward obtaining a security officer registration card from New York State. The course provides students with an overview of a security officer’s duties and responsibilities. Topics covered include the role of a security officer, legal powers and limitations, emergency situations, communications and public relations, access control, as well as ethics and conduct. Students need to pass the examination to complete this course successfully. This course is taught by Foley Security Training.
Requirements:

  1. Must be at least 18 years old
  2. Must have a valid NYS driver’s license or ID card
  3. No felony record.

This is a 16-hour course that must be completed within 90 days of employment as a security officer. It provides students with detailed information on the duties and responsibilities of a security officer. Topics covered include the roles of a security officer, legal powers and limitations, emergency situations, communications and public relations, access control, ethics and conduct, incident command system, and terrorism. Students need to pass the examination to complete this course successfully. Pre-requisite: Eight Hour Pre-Assignment. This course is taught by Foley Security Training. Click here to register.

This is an eight-hour course that must be completed each calendar year you hold a security officer registration, and annually thereafter. Your registration is issued for two years. This means that you must complete two training courses of eight-hours Annual In-Service before your registration expires. This course provides you with up-to-date information on the duties and responsibilities of a security officer. It contains the same topics covered by the eight-hour pre-assignment course. You need a NYS Security Officer License to be eligible to take this course. This course is taught by Foley Security Training.  Click here to register.
